Looking for a private advisor?

You’ve heard the pitch and now you’re considering working with me. The work that I do for clients falls into 3 broad areas: Accounting, Advisory and Analytics.

Accounting

You need to know where you are now, in order to get where you want to go.

A lot of business owners jump straight into “how are we going to get there?”, but have you ever tried to plan a road trip without knowing where you’ll depart from? You need up to date, accurate financial information that can help you make effective decisions. Whether you need grunt power to get your books in shape or you need an expert in your corner to help you better understand the numbers, I can help you get regular financial reports that make sense in your hands every month.

From there I can use these reports to help meet your ongoing tax obligations by preparing your annual Financial Statements and Tax Returns using my 12+ years of tax agent experience. I have prepared all types of returns including the obvious ones like partnership/company tax returns, Fringe Benefits Tax returns but also the obscure ones like International Dealings Schedules and Annual Investment Income Reports.

Doing your accounting & tax is just the start though because for every client I run an annual Tax Planning process between April & June which involves calculating year to date taxable income estimates across the group to advise estimate tax bills and provide recommendations for minimising tax payable. My recommendations could include simple tips like bringing forward purchases or investing in assets to take advantage of accelerated depreciation deductions or they could involve more complex strategies like taking advantage of the small business CGT concessions to restructure your business without paying any capital gains tax.

My accounting services start from $5,500 for preparing annual financial statements, tax returns and tax planning for a trading business.

Advisory

Once you know where you are now, we can focus on where you want to go and how you’ll get there.

Real enterprise value can be created in 3 distinct areas:

  • Growth
  • Efficiency
  • Confidence

Growth can come in a few different forms but the key is establishing strategies for increasing your revenue base either now or in the future, which ultimately will help grow your bottom line.

Efficiency is about doing more with less, it’s not necessarily all about cutting costs but it is about doing things in a way that reduces wastage so you can optimise expenditure and improve your profitability.

Last but certainly not least, value can be created by improving stakeholder Confidence in your brand. Businesses are worth what people are prepared to pay and if people understand that your business will deliver more profit or value down the track, they will ultimately have the confidence to pay more for your products and services. Things like establishing scalable systems, positioning the brand and mitigating potential risks all have a positive impact on the value of your enterprise.

I typically work with clients by establishing an ongoing advisory board that meets regularly and the investment for my involvement in this starts from $1,100 per month.

Analytics

Analytics is the art of taking information and turning that information into actionable strategies that create value.

It is one thing to collect information and stick it on fancy looking dashboards, but it is entirely another thing to invest time into getting to know a business inside and out, then distilling that information into a clear, definitive action that is simple enough that if I explained it to your grandma she’d just get it.

To get specific, here are some areas that I can use my data analysis skills to help you with:

  • Descriptive Analytics: providing data that helps you understand the drivers of performance in your business
  • Monetisation: identifying opportunities to generate new revenue from existing data
  • Segmentation: mining your data to identify profitable customer personas so you can target them
  • Conversion Rate Optimisation: essential data for improving your conversion rates so you can acquire more high quality customers
  • Predictive Modelling: forecasting future demand/churn and helping you understand the impact of decisions

My data analysis services start from $550 per month for my standard reporting/analytics templates and from $1,100 per month for ongoing coaching around the data that we surface.
